ELIGIBILITY: Employees of Oath Inc. (“Verizon Media” or “Sponsor”) and those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of the
Yahoo Hack Together hackathon (the “Promotion”), prize suppliers, and any other person or entity associated with the Promotion (collectively
“Promotion Entities”) are not eligible. Must be at least 16 years or older to enter.
Void in countries/regions under sanctions by the United States, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria,
Region of Crimea. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Promotion constitutes each entrant's full and
unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor
which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements
set forth herein.
ENTRY PERIOD: The Promotion Entry Period will begin at 9 a.m. PST on March 21, 2021 and end at 11:59 p.m.
PST on March 28, 2021 (the “Entry Period”). Submissions received prior to or after the Entry Period will not be accepted.
ENTRY: To participate, you must submit a pull request to one of the projects listed
on the Promotion site at https://yahoo.github.io/hacktogether by March 28, 2021.
Winners will be selected based on the first entrants to submit merged pull requests and also the top merged pull request selected by the maintainers.
Your contributions must follow the project contribution guidelines listed in the project root and you must comply with
the event Code of Conduct,
the Verizon Media Terms of Service, and the
Verizon Media Privacy Policy.
PRIZES:
The following prizes will be awarded:
One (1) Yahoo swag pack for participants up to the first 300 winners. Approximate retail value $25 USD.
One (1) Yahoo swag pack for second most merged pull request winners (up to five). Approximate retail value $50 USD.
One (1) Yahoo swag pack for top pull request winner and top most merged pull request winner. Approximate retain value $50 USD.
Limit one (1) prize per person. Prizes are not transferable and no substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor,
who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal value, if a prize is not available for any
reason as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor's sole discretion. Winners are responsible for any taxes and fees associated
with receipt or use of a prize. Limit one (1) prize per person.
WINNER NOTIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Each potential winner will be notified that they are a potential
winner of the Promotion by a notification (“Notification”) delivered via email. The Notification is deemed to have occurred
immediately upon sending of the notification by Sponsor to the potential Winners. The Promotion Entities are not responsible
for and will not be liable for late, lost, damaged, intercepted, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify the potential
Winners. When the potential Winners are contacted, they will be required to respond to the Notification by the deadline stated
in the Notification and provide their physical mailing address for prize fulfillment. Sponsor will subsequently send the prize
to the mailing address provided by potential Winners. If no response is received by the stated deadline in the Notification,
the prize will go unawarded. Acceptance of a prize constitutes consent to use winner’s name and likenesses for editorial,
advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
A potential winner may also be disqualified for: (a) failing to provide the required information by the stated deadline;
(b) a violation of any of these Official Rules (including failure to satisfy any eligibility requirements); or (c) any
other reason affecting the fairness or propriety of this Promotion as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the
Promotion is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical
problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Promotion to address the impairment
and then resume the Promotion in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b)
award the prizes from among the eligible Submissions received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor
reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the
Submission process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules
or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation
of the Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made,
the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
In case of a dispute as to the owner of a Submission, Submission will be deemed to have been submitted
by the authorized account holder of the email address from which the Submission is made.
RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Promotion, entrants
agree to release and hold harmless the Promotion Entities, its officers, directors, employees, and agents
(the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the
Promotion or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention
in the Promotion; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines;
(c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration
of the Promotion or the processing of entries; (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly
or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Promotion or receipt of any prize; (g) other errors
or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, technical, network, electronic; or errors which may occur in connection
with the administration of the Promotion, (h) the processing or judging of applications, presentations,
or (i) the awarding or announcement of the winners in any other Promotion-related materials. Entrant waives
the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct,
or indirect damages. Entrant further agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties
from and against any and all third party claims or causes of action arising out of or in any way related to entrant's
product and the Released Parties’ use thereof as authorized herein, including, without limitation, any claims of infringement
of intellectual property rights.
PRIVACY: By entering the Promotion, you agree to Sponsor’s use of your personal information
as described in these Official Rules and the Privacy Policy, located at https://www.verizonmedia.com/policies/xw/en/verizonmedia/privacy/intl/index.html.
In addition to the terms listed in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, the following privacy terms apply to your participation in the Promotion.
In relation to exercising your privacy rights, in the event of a conflict between these Official Rules and Sponsor’s
Privacy Policy, the terms of Section 10(e) in these Official Rules shall govern.
Information You Provide to Us: Sponsor will collect the following information you provide
when you participate in the Promotion:
Your name
Your email address
Your mailing address
Your GitHub.com ID
How We use This Information: We will use this information for the following purposes:
Communicate with you information about the event (e.g., start date/time)
Communicate with Promotion Entities for the purpose of Promotion
administration and prize fulfillment
Mailing any earning prizes
Email a post-survey follow-up
How We Share This Information: By entering the Promotion, you expressly grant Sponsor
permission to share your contact information and any other personally identifiable information
with Promotion Entities for the purpose of Promotion administration and prize fulfillment.
How Long We Retain This Information: Sponsor will retain the information collected for a period of 90
days after completion of the Promotion for the purpose of fulfilling prizes, and where necessary, to comply
with applicable law. Verizon Media will delete the personal information collected as part of the Promotion 90
days after completion of the Promotion, unless required to retain the information to comply with applicable law.
How You Exercise Your Privacy Rights: Your privacy is important to us. By participating in the Promotion,
you acknowledge that the mechanism available to exercise your privacy rights related to the Promotion is via email.
